Umrah Palace or Qasr Amra is an Umayyad desert palace located in the north of the Jordanian desert in the Azraq area of ​​Zarqa, about 75 km east of Amman. It is relatively small, so some call it short.

The palace was built in the life of Caliph al-Walid bin Yazid, the eleventh ruler of the Umayyad caliphs (707-744 AD). It is believed that the palace was used for fishing trips by the caliphs and the princes of Bani Umayya.

The palace consists of a rectangular reception hall with two nodes divided into three corridors for each semi-circular vaulted hall. The central hallway on the south side is connected with a large courtyard with two small rooms overlooking two gardens that were used for siesta. The floor of the rooms and the hall are decorated with mosaics representing vegetal motifs. The other rooms are decorated with marble.

The palace has a bathroom adjacent to the reception hall consisting of three halls, two are covered with semi-circular vaults and the third is covered with a small dome. The bathroom, which is still in good condition, consists of three halls: cold, hot and hot, the latter with steam pipes. Attached to the bathroom is a large dressing room with two compartments.

The palace also has a water network passing underneath it. In the courtyard of the palace there is a well with a depth of 40 meters and a diameter of 1.8 meters. The well can accommodate 100 cubic meters of water that was filled from Wadi al-Butm when the rain fell and the water flowed in that valley. It was placed in a water tank next to the well and the water flowed in two lines, one of which leads to the inner courtyard to feed the fountain to the left of the entrance and a line to provide the bathroom and the bathroom with ceramic pipes.

On the walls of the palace are paintings and many engravings, the subjects of which are numerous scenes of fishing trips and animals found in the region at that time, including blacks, tigers, deer and ostriches, the dome of the bathroom showing the celestial towers painted with its architecture and resembling the Roman baths in their form and components. At the end of the middle hall of the reception hall was found a mural of the caliph sitting on the throne surrounded by Bahala with his companions, and there was a letter referring to the name of the caliph but it draws without anyone being able to read it.

A short period of life was carried out by plastering the walls with a layer of plaster and then painted the drawings to be executed in water colors. It has been used in blue, dark brown, light brown, dark yellow and lazurite green.
