History

The Mar Elias Hill, which was approved by the Vatican as a pilgrimage site, is located approximately 12 km northwest of Ajloun, within a forested area surrounded by wild trees. Tel Mar Elias is a small hill that rises about 900 meters from the level of the sea. It is believed to have been named by the name of the Prophet Elijah peace be upon him mentioned in the Old Testament and the Holy Qur'an.
