Archaeological Park- mary Church
Founded in 1991 near the Madaba Visitor Center, the Madaba Archeological Park is composed of ancient monuments, such as the Roman street, the Temple Hall, the Church of the Prophet Elias, the Sanctuary of St. Elianus, the Church of the Virgin and the mosaic exhibition. The ancient Roman street, one of the most important elements of this group, cuts through the city from east to west and leads to the gates of its ancient walls, and extends buried underground for a long distance outside the park. This street is characterized by its cobbled stones and surrounding columns covered with a layer of dust that dates back to the Byzantine and Roman periods
