Karak Archaeological Museum

The museum was founded in 1981 in a hall with a barrel shape of 80 m long and 12 m long, dating back to the Mamluk period inside the castle. In 2001, the museum was rehabilitated as part of the tourism sector development project, funded by the Japan Bank for International Cooperation and JICA, and opened in August 2004. The historical chronology of the exhibition was based on ancient artifacts dating back to the Crusader and even Islamic periods. The hall was also dedicated to the history and architecture of the Karak fortress and its role in the Late Islamic period, in which Mamluk weapons were displayed, such as armor, stone and mortar.
