History

The Blue Aqueduct is one of the nature reserves in Jordan, located near the city of Azraq. It is named after its name and consists of wet land.
It has an area of ​​12 square kilometers. It is about 115 kilometers away from the capital, Amman. It is named after Blue Oasis, which is part of its area and is covered by ponds, swamps and aquatic plants.
The protected area provides protection for birds living or moving near the sabkhat, ponds and aqueducts of the Blue Reserve. The number of birds that pass through it is estimated at half a million birds annually. The Blue Camp is a residence for migratory birds between Africa and Asia. About 307 species of birds have been registered. Under the Ramsar Treaty, the Blue Reserve is considered a water area of ​​international importance for migratory birds. The Blue Reserve is also rich in flora and fauna, Among the most important wild animals are the son of Owi, the red foxes, the planned dybbuk, the wolf, the thorn and many rodents.
