Qasr Burqu‘

Located about 20km northwest of ar-Ruwayshid, Built around 3rd century AD by the Romans, there is a dam next to the palace, the dam was constructed by the Romans as a means of securing water for caravans heading between Syria and Arabia. In order to secure this vital water source, the Romans also built a small fort here, though it became a monastery during the Byzantine period, and was later restored by the Umayyads in about AD 700. 2JDFor non-Jordanian 0.25ForJordanian
